Robin Roberts' Mother Dies At Her Residence - Mrs. Sarah Roberts, 66, of Springfield, the mother of Philadelphia Phillies pitching star Robin Roberts, died Sunday at her residence. Roberts has left the club and is on his way home for services.
Mrs. Roberts was born May 23, 1893, in Bolton, England and came to Springfield in 1921. She was a member of Fifth Presbyterian Church.
Surviving with Roberts who resides in Meadowbrook, Pa., are her husband Thomas, two other sons, John of Springfield and George of Florissant, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Caroll Kemp, Springfield, and Mrs. John Stone, Riverton; 19 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews in England and Canada.
Funeral services will be at the Bisch Memorial Home. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
