MRS. E.J. SMITH DIES
Mrs. Effie Jane Smith, aged 69 years, died at her home at 924 39th avenue yesterday at 7:30 p.m.
She was born in Mississippi, having been a life long resident of the state.
Surviving her are two daughters who are both teachers in the Gulfport Public Schools. The daughters are Mrs. M. Parden who teaches in the East Ward school and Miss Lula Smith, who teaches in the North Gulfport school.
The remains were taken to Stone county this afternoon where interment was made in the Hunt Cemetery at the side of her husband and two sons.
Rev. W.J. Ferguson accompanied the remains and conducted funeral ceremonies.
