Rachel Dryden Starling,67,of 1347 NE 28th Ave., Gainesville, died Tuesday, Nov 28, in Shands Teaching Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Echols County, Ga., Mrs. Starling had lived in Gainesville for seven years. She was a member of North Central Baptist Church. For many years Mrs. Starling lived in Graham. She moved to Miami in 1948.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Thomas Kinard and Myrtle Thomas Deaver, both of Gainesville; four sisters, Leila Newsome of Starke, Mae Levings of Lake City, Martha West of Palmetto and Belle Pierce of Glen St. Mary, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be Friday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. in Miami Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the American Cancer Society.
