Deceased Name: DEATH: LELAND JOSEPH EARL Leland Joseph Earl, age 73, died August 21, 1990 at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah, following a stroke.

He was born December 28, 1916 in South Weber, Utah to Clarence C. and Alice Myrtle Kendall Earl. He married Mae Williams on June 17, 1940 in Farmington, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He received his education in the Davis County schools. He attended Weber State and BYU where he graduated in 1939.
He served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California during World War II. After the war he and his wife lived in the Los Angeles area where he worked for Utilities Supply Company. He lived in Southern California for 42 years, 36 of which were in San Gabriel, California. He moved to St. George 2 1/2 years ago. He owned his own business in California, Pacific Mill and Mine Supply Co.

He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a High Priest in the Bloomington 5th Ward. He held many church positions including temple worker at both Los Angeles and St. George Temples. He and his wife recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

His interests included a love for family, baseball and travel.

He is survived by his wife of St. George; two daughters, Mrs. Marty (Deanna) Ehman, Bountiful; Mrs. Gary (Elaine) Beck, Glendora, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Grant C. Earl, Pasadana Calif.; Harold Earl, West Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Bruce (LaVon) Lake, Ogden; Mrs. Chuck (Norma) Allred, Layton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 25, 1990, at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday evening, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Military Rites by V.F.W. #4.
