Coonie Hager, Sr., 92, of Logan, died yesterday (December 14, 1987) in Logan General Hospital. He was born May 13, 1895, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Fred and Virginia (Plumley) Hager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Rudy Graham and Eva Gay Hager. He was a World War I veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church at Stollings. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post No. 19 of Logan. Survivors include wife, Anna (Browning) Hager, three sons, Connie Jr. of Mt. Gay, Millard of Whitman and Tennis of Stollings; six daughters, Astor Horn of Mt. Gay, Nancy Thompson of Whitman, Mary Butcher of Chapmanville, Virginia Smith of Huntington, Nora Webber of Alex, Va., Jessie Manweiler of Sterling, Va.; two brothers, Don Cooper of Columbus, Ohio, and Walter 'Dub' Hager of Chapmanville; three sisters, Lora Fillinger of Fla., Liza Conley aand Opal Colby, both of Columbus, Ohio; 46 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. tomorrow in James Funeral Home Chapel at Aracoma with Dr. Moss Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 6153 of Chapmanville, American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville, American Legion Post of Logan, Disabled American Veterans of Logan and the Marine Corps Veterans of Logan.
