She was born October 19, 1889, at Minerscha, Holland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ysbranda Hamersma. She came to the United States to New Jersey with her parents when a young girl.
When a young woman she came to Montana to the Gallatin Valley. On February 18, 1908, she married Leonard Verwolf at Bozeman. He died in 1947.
The Verwolfs farmed for a number of years in the Manhattan area where they also operated a meat market. Mrs. Verwolf continued to make her home at Manhattan following the death of her husband.
Survivors include two sons, Barney Verwolf of Worden, Washington, and George, also a Washington resident, and nine daughters, Mrs. Dixie Galloway of Spokane, Mrs. Del (Helen) Holderby of Grand View, Washington, Mrs. Judy Backus and Mrs. Art (Frankie) Funk of Missoula, Mrs. Bob (Jo) Colver of Bozeman, Mrs. Duane (June) Coleman of Seattle and Mrs. Clem (Bertha) Simmons, Mrs. John (Betty) Julian and Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Campbell, all of Manhattan. A son, Guy, also preceded her in death.
