"Frederick Eugene "Gene" Hoggard, 63, of Attica, died at 11:20 p.m. Sept. 16, 1990, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health five years. Born April 2, 1927, in Templeton, he lived in Oxford and attended school there. He moved to Attica in 1965. His marriage was on Dec. 1, 1964, in Brownsburg, to Vernice June Darding, who died March 19, 1979.

He worked at Harrison Steel Casting Co. and was an electrician there for 18 years before retiring. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 3318 and Eagles Lodge 2596, both in Attica, and American Legion Post 259 in Williamsport.

Surviving are one son, three daughters including Deanna Myers of Delphi, a stepson, two brothers, and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica." - Delphi Carroll County Comet September 19, 1990 (Obituary provided by Richard Lybrook)
