He was born in Monticello on May 8, 1918, the son of Ethel Rankin and George Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Turner Cooper, one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Louise) Gregory of New Castle, one son, Raymond N.Cooper of Springfield, OH, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, Claude Cooper of New Castle, five sisters, Mollie Cooper of New Castle, Mrs. Harrison (Marie) Denney and Mrs. Roy (Mildred) Poe, both of Monticello, Mrs. Lucy Rogers of Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. Lela Rector of Albany.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson and Fox Cooper and one sister, Pearl Cooper.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19th at 10:30 a.m. at Couden-Hostettler Funeral Home in New Castle, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
