John Pearson, an old timer of Strn, Oregon died suddenly of heart disease last Saturday morning near, Keno, Oregon. He was aged 66 years 11 months and 27 days.
Mr. Pearson was on his way to the Dorris Ranch with Walt Alred and wife and had stopped at the Teater's Ranch Friday night. Saturday morning he went out to hitch up his team and was standing by the wagon talking to a little girl when he suddenly fell to the ground and expired. Mr. Pearson was troubled with heart disease for a number of years and as he was a very fleshy man, he weighed about 250 pounds, these attacks were frequent.
He was born in Tennessee August 18, 1832. At the age of 20 in 1852 he came to California and remained there about ten years, in 1862 he removed to Jacksonville, Oregon and in April 1867 he was married to Mrs. Mary Alred of that place.
The remains were brought to Klamath Falls Saturday night and interment made in the cemetery at this place Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Besides the wife and son he leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his passing.
