Jeff was a truck driver for many years. He had recently started Smith's Welding Service. He was an avid motorcyclist and outdoorsman and he like to play a lot of different sports. Jeff was a music enthusiast, as he played the harmonica. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially his granddaughter, Ember. Jeff was a member of the Teamsters and Climax/Prairie Masons Lodge #59. Jeff will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Sarah (Steven Trimner) Smith of Battle Creek, Cpl. Chet I. (Erin) Smith of Climax; granddaughter, Ember L. Trimner; brothers and sisters, Frank (Kay) Smith, Judith A. Hepler, Barbara J. (Bob) Hamlin, Betty L. Benson, Ron E. (Linda) Smith, Amy L. (Nick) Simon, June E. (Gordy) James, Lorraine A. (Rob) Harris, Jack E. (Carolyn) Smith and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Moorehead and sister, Dixie L. Smith.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 3 - 5 P.M.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Ron E. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made to Michigan Masonic Home or charity of one's choice.
