Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Mowata for Mrs. Onezime Bergeron, 88, nee Sidonie Bertrand, who died Sunday at her home here on Pearl St. Rev. Joseph A. LaFleur officiated at the requiem high mass.
A native of St. Landry Parish, Mrs. Bergeron had spent all her life in this section. Altho in ill health for the past year, she did not become seriously ill until two weeks before her death.
Surviving are five sons, Cineas Sevord "C.S.", Emar "E.M.", Addias & Lulus Bergeron of Eunice, Adaus Bergeron of Iota; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ozea Bergeron) Schambaugh of Eunice and Mrs. Ostay (Derozia Bergeron) Lejeune, 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
