She was the sister of Madison Christian's first wife, Elizabeth. Martha married him on January 24, 1884.

She married Calvin H. Potter on November 17, 1866, but he passed away two months later. She was living with her parents in the 1870 Census.

She married Cyrus B. Parks on May 8, 1871. He passed away on April 15, 1881.
