Cecilia A. Jensen, age 89, of 54 S. 6th St. in Hilbert died on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein. She was born September 29, 1915 in Marytown, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Steffes) Weber. She married Elmer Jensen on April 20, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. The couple resided in Chilton until 1948 when they moved to Hilbert. Elmer preceded her in death on September 21, 1973.
Cecilia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert, and the Christian Mother's Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time up north at the cottage.
Survivors include her daughters: Elizabeth (Ken) Grenzer of Hilbert; Barbara (Gary) Nennig of Stockbridge; Jane (Paul) Thiel of Appleton; Alice (Levant) Purdy of San Diego, CA; Karen (Bob) Eichmeier of Hilbert; three sons: Charles R. Jensen of Bullhead City, AZ; Eugene H. Jensen of Tucson, AZ; Elmer "Pete" P. Jensen of Hilbert; 33 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Ann Dedering. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert with the Rev. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2005 and again on Monday August 1, 2005 at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. when family prayers will be held.
