Meta Womble Eaves

Meta Womble Eaves, 94, of Etowah, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 2009, at NHC Health Care of Athens.

A native of Farner, and a resident of McMinn County for the past 65 years, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Vina Rose Womble. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Eaves; three sisters, Annie Arp, Bead Ingle and Greta Koger; and three brothers, Wess Womble, L.E. Womble and Chess Womble. (Also, brother Jerry and sister Martha)

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Orville Harris of Athens; two grandchildren, Robin Lynn Harris and Todd Harris and wife, Dale; three great-grandchildren, Tanner Blake Harris, Sydney Nicole Harris and Jessi Faith Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Pete Mullins officiating.

There will be no visitation held.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.

Meta Womble Eaves, 94, of Etowah, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 2009, at NHC Health Care of Athens.
