Matt was married to Agnes Wettlaufer (1886-1965). Agnes was a sister of Carl Wettlaufer. They moved from Ontario with several other family members in 1901. They lived and raised their family - George, Alexander, Allen, Robert (Pete) and Ethel on a farm NE of Omemee.
