Rev. Abbott's Services Set
Funeral services for Rev. Edd Abbott will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel in Amarillo, Tex. The services will be officiated by Rev. L. R. Green, and Rev. Marvin Abbott assisting, and Rev. Ed Abbott's grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Graveside rites will be held here at the Fairlawn Cemetery on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Martin Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Rev. Edd Abbott was born in Navarro County, Tex., Aug. 1, 1998. He died on Nov. 1 at the age of 83. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was a minister for more than 44 years. Prior to being the pastor of the Freewill Baptist Church in Sayre, he was a longtime resident of Elk City. He had lived in Amarillo since 1957. He was married to Mrs. Blanche Teague for 19 years and she survives him.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Abbott of Amarillo; two sons, Eddie Abbott of Midwest City and Rev. Jack Abbott of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs. Aline Stewart of Dyer, Ind., and Mrs. Rozelle White of Napa, Calif.; two step daughters, Mrs. Melba Scott of Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Barbara Heifner of Odessa, Tex.; ten grandchildren and eight step grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren.
