Tom A. Myers age 58, a resident of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Tuesday February 1, 2000 in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on February 20, 1941 in Fort Wayne IN. a son of the late Ralph Edward, and Viola Elizabeth (Foreman) Myers.
Tom retired from the city the Decatur after a long career he was also a 20 year veteran firefighter with the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department. On June 8, 1963 he married Alberta "Abbie" M. Lee in the North Scott Church near Fremont, IN. He was also a 20+ year veteran of the US Army National Guard. Tom loved his association with his church The Crossroad, in Decatur.
Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years Abbie Myers of Decatur, son Mark W. (Melanie) Myers; foster son Victor Perez III; and a daughter, Cathay K. Stoiche; all of Decatur; a brother Brad L. (Karen) Myers of Portland, IN. and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be provided by the Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home in Decatur with a Fireman's memorial service with the Decatur Fire Department; and numerous area Fire Departments in attendance, and Veterans graveside rites presented by the color guard rom the Decatur American Legion Post 43. burial took place in the Decatur (Maplewood) Cemetery.
