Ralph Edward Myers, age 73, passed away on Saturday August 14, 1993 at the Veterans Hospital in Marion, Indiana, following an extended illness. Ralph was born on January 12, 1920 in Fort Wayne, IN. a son of the late Thomas Arthur and Mary Anna (Knepper) Myers. In his formative years he live in Fort Wayne, and he served a few years in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was Married on July 22, 1939 in Fort Wayne, to Viola Elizabeth (Foreman) Myers. In September 1943 Ralph entered the U. S. Army and after brief military training was sent onto the battlefields. He was seriously wounded by sniper fire in France in September of 1944. Suffering spinal cord injuries that limited his activity's for the rest of his life. He was awarded the Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, The Combat Infantryman Badge, and the ETO Ribbon Medal with 3 battle stars, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Ralph worked in Custodial work, in schools and the Fort Wayne V. A. Hospital. He was very proud of his work.

Ralph is survived by two sons, Thomas "Tom",(Abbie) Myers of Decatur, IN; Brad L. (Karen) Myers of Fort Wayne, IN.,and five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister Edith Leah Miller of New Haven, IN.

He was preceded in death by his wife Viola E. (Foreman) Myers, parents, and step-father James Arthur Buffington; brothers; Charles William; Douglas Woodrow; Donald Lloyd; and Glen Earl Myers; sisters Edith Leah (Myers) Wedler, Miller; and Anna Eleanor (Myers) Conner, Golden.

Burial took place in the Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN.
Funeral services provided by the D. O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, Foster Park Chapel in Fort Wayne IN.
