Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Ambers, an early day resident of northern Wells and southern Benson Counties in ND were held on Tuesday at Everett, WA and Thursday at the Viking Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. She was born in Spring Grove, MN on 19 Nov 1885 the daughter of Gulbrand Hagen and Martha Elken Hagen Dieseth and came to ND as a young girl. She was married to Melvin Ambers on 14 Feb 1901 by Rev. Fanelsrud in a little school near the John Bergrud place near Heimdal. Mrs. Ambers lived in this area until 1944 when she moved to Everett, WA where she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Myrtle) Aanderud for nine years. She then moved to the Lutheran Bethany Home where she has been the last seven years. She had been in ill health the past twelve years. She died on 27 Nov 1960 at Everett. She attended the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Everett and was a member of the Viking Lutheran Church of Maddock. Surviving besides her daughter are seven sons,Oscar Ambers of Heimdal, Harry Ambers of New Rockford, Lewis Ambers of Heaton, Arnold Ambers of Vancouver, WA, George Ambers of Hamberg, Elmer Ambers of Hambers and Walter of Longview, WA; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Dalley of Grandin, Mrs. Helga Townsley of Amenia, Mrs. Stella Johnson of Hamberg and Mrs. Olga Foss of Heimdal; and 29 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Sidney Ambers, Elmer Ambers Jr., Sander Ambers, Stanton Ambers, Lawrence Ambers and Alvern Ambers. Honorary pallbearers were Lothard Lommen, Hjalmer Nelson, Henry Gisleberg, Alfred Lynne, Gabe Dybing and Sylvester Bergrud. Burial was in the church cemetery in block 3 plot 1
