Funeral services for Walter H. Ambers, 58, of Woodland, WA were conducted from the Wheeler Funeral Chapel on 11 Feb 1970. Mr. Ambers died on 5 Feb 1970 in Woodland where he had resided for the past three years. Rev. Elmo Anderson officiated. Interment was in the Viking Cemetery in block 3 plot 1. Casket bearers were Dwight Stensgaard, Wayne Stensgaard, Harold Martell, Sidney Ambers, Sander Ambers and Elmer Ambers. Mrs. Elmo Anderson was the soloist and provided the chapel music. Walter Henry Ambers was born on 28 Jun 1911 near Heimdal, ND the son of Melvin and Louisa Ambers. He attended public schools there and remained on his parental farm until the mid 1930's. He then moved to Everett, WA where he had resided and worked until he move to Woodland. Mr. Ambers had never married. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Richard (Myrtle) Aanderud of Everett, WA; six brothers, Oscar Ambers and Arnold Ambers both of Heimdal, George Ambers of Hamberg, Harry Ambers of New Rockford, Lewis Ambers of LaCenter, WA and Elmer Ambers of Sandpoint, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
