John L. Freed
John L. Freed of Lumber City, Reedsville, died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Leroy Esher in Shamokin, from injuries received in a fall over a stone wall about two weeks ago.beside other injuries Mr. Freed suffered two broken ribs and a fracture of the breast bone..
He received treatment in the Shamokin Hospital for a period of time, but was later removed to the home of his daughter where he died..
He was aged 77 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was a former employe of the Standard Steel Works until about two years ago and resided with his son Solomon Freed, at Lumber City...
He was a resident of Lumber City for the past 30 years and was a member of the Evangelical Church in Havice Valley..
His wife Whose maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Johnson, proceeded him in death two years ago..
He is survived by the following sons and daughters, William H. Freed of Hawstone, Mrs. John{Jennie} Bohn of Centre Hall, Walter Freed of Lumber City, Mrs Leroy{Rebecca} Esher, of Shamokin, Solomon and Joseph of Lumber City and Orville Freed of Altoona, and by a large number of grandchildren.
The body may be viewed Friday evening from 6:30 o`clock to 8:30 o`clock at the Barr Funeral Home,at which place the friends will meet at 1:30 o`clock Saturday and proceed in the Milroy Methodist Church where services will be conducted at 2:00 o`clock in the charge of Rev. J. Edward Kahler, Pastor of the church. The burial will be made in the Woodlawn cemetery, Milroy...

Funeral of Mr. Freed
The funeral of John L. Freed, whose late residence was at Lumber City, Reedsville, was conducted from the Funeral home of W. Arthur Barr, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o`clock. The funeral cortege moved to the Milroy Methodist Church, where the principal services were conducted by the Rev. J. Edward Kahler, pastor of the Methodist Church.
The burial was made in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy, and the casket carriers were five sons and a son in law of the deceased.William H. Harry Walter, Solomon G. Joseph and Orville Freed and Leroy Esher.
The deceased died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Leroy Esher of Shamokin. his death having been caused by injuries received by a fall over a stone wall two weeks previous.
