James Elam died at his home in Bentonville, Arkansas, on Wednesday, march 29. He was a little more than 93 years of age. The funeral was held the day following his death.
He was born in Virginia February 25, 1809. When he was still a babe his parents moved to Butler county, Kentucky and in 1819, they moved to this county locating in Wabash. James grew to manhood there married and raised a large family. In 1866 he moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where he spent the remainder of his days.
