Jim, his brother Sam, and sister Doris all rode horses; Jim's horse did tricks and smoked cigarettes. He worker at lumber mills in western WA, and lost fingers in the saws. Jim retired in Bend, OR on five acres with his daughter 's animals, she had named one of her race horses after the Cherokee Gma. When Jim died his brother, Bob, flew his plane to Bend, OR and took Jim's ashes and scatted them over the Sister's Mountains in Oregon.
