James F. Strong was born in Snyder county Pa., Jan 26, 1849, was married t Miss Clarissa A. Shunk, May 9, 1869, who departed this life June 17, 1875 leaving him with three small children. August 27, 1875 he was united in marriage to Rachael M. Shunk, sister of the departed wife, to this union was born eleven children, three of which have preceded him to the life beyond. He passed away Monday Jan 23, 1922 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 23 days. He leaves to mourn their loss, a devoted wife, seven sons, four daughters, 24 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 7 brothers, 1 sister and a host of friends and neighbors. funeral services were held Friday, Jan 27, from the Church of God Chapel, E.C. Grice officiating. Internment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
