She was a retired foreign language teacher in the Silsbee High School. She taught French, Latin and Spanish. She touched the lives of generations of children.
Known affectionately to her loved ones as Gaga, she was a devout Christian and was a member of the Methodist church in Silsbee.
She leaves behind her children, Philip Allen and Neil Allen; daughters Betty Iles and Theo Keown; sister, Dorris Chenault; brother, J. M. Radley; numerous grandchildren, great grand children and great-great grandchildren.
She has joined in heaven her husband "Granddaddy" Athan Christopher and her sons Athan "Sonny" Jr. and Tommy.
