Mrs. Thomas Hayes
Mrs. Era Ann Hayes, 98, widow of Thomas Hayes, died last night at a local nursing home. She was born in Agency, Mo.
Surviving are three sons, William, Charles and George C. Hayes, all of St. Joseph; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The body is at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman mortuary.

Final rites for Mrs. Era Ann Hayes, who died last night at a nursing home in St. Joseph, will be conducted by Dr. G. A. Baldwin tomorrow afternoon at 3 at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel. Burial will be at the Agency cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes was born 98 years ago at Agency, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stricklin, pioneer settlers of that community. She lived all of her life at Agency until the death of her husband, Thomas Hayes, 30 years ago, when she moved to St. Joseph.
Three sons, William, Charles and Claude C. Hayes, St. Joseph, survive her, as do 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Six of the grandsons, Billy, James Robert, Delbert and Thomas Hayes and Raymond and Howard Nagle, will be pallbearers.
