1961 - Mrs. Ellen (DeLong) Smoyer, 88, of 2341 Belmont Ave., Allentown, wife of the late Quillas Smoyer, died Saturday at home. Born in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Joel and Mary (Mattern) DeLong. She was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of the Union Church, Neffs. Surviving are four sons, Robert of Allentown, Earl and Edwin of Schnecksville, and Frederick of Laurys Station; two daughters, Grace, wife of Elmer Rex of Orefield, and Mrs. Dorothy Christ of Allentown, with whom she resided; a brother Tilden DeLong of Catasauqua; 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Union Church, Neffs. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert A. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 54 Summit Rd., Schnecksville.
