Funeral services for Philip Miller, 87, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct 23 in Miguez Funeral Home. The Revs. Bob Bollich, Snow Ramore and Bryan K. Bellard officiated.
Burial was held in Miller-French Cemetery near Evangeline.
Mr. Miller died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday Oct. 22, 1995 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
A lifelong resident of the Evangeline area, he was a cattleman and retired owner of the General Country Store. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Iota where he served as Sunday school superintendent , music director and Deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Zora Hebert Miller; three daughters, Bonnie Miller of Slidell, Grace Miller Bellard of Evangeline and Elgie Miller Gatte of Westlake; one son, Bobby Miller of Lafayette; four sisters, Camelia Miller Estes of Texas City, Texas, Bertile Miller Bellard, Bernice Miller Crochet and Lula Miller Richard all of Evangeline; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Craig Gotte, George Crochet, Patrick Miller, Tim Miller, Calvin Gatte and Bryan K. Bellard.
