Gotte's Cove - Funeral services for Louis "Early" Miller, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, in Miller-French Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Wales will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation will be held until 10 p.m. today, April 19, in the funeral home chapel and from 8 a.m. until time of services Thursday in the church.
Mr. Miller died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 1995 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
A lifelong resident of the Evangeline/Gotte's Cove area, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Miller-French Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Huey (Iris Miller) Boril of Crowley; five sons, Daniel Miller of Groves, Texas, Hillary Miller of Iota, Reive Miller, Clyde Miller & Ted Miller all of Jennings, one brother, Willie Miller of Evangeline; four step-daughters, Sylvia Moss of Jennings, Melba LeDoux of Crowley, Marjorie Gatte of Iota and Gloria Ertell of Portland, Oregon; three step-sons, Larry Fontenot of Edmond, Oklahoma, Gene Fontenot of Alexandria and Ernest Fontenot of Iota, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Boril, Troy Boril, Wendell Miller, Gene Fontenot, Chad Miller and Ronnie Broussard. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Boril.
