OWEN, Myrtle B.-Age 94, died Friday, September 1, 1989 at Stan Marie Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 5, 1989 at the Brown Funeral Home, Rev. James Hatfield officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 PM Saturday. Mrs. Owen was born August 12, 1895 in LaCrosse, Missouri and had lived in Flint since 1920. She was united in marriage April 4, 1920 to Dodson Owen, he preceded her in death in 1972. She was a 50 year member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and had most recently been a member of Central Baptist Church. Surviving are: 2 sons, Peter (Mildred) Owen of Flint, Dodson (Judy) Owen of Bradenton, Florida; 2 daughters, Nadine Kerrison of Mt. Morris, Donna (Mrs. James) Shawl of Burton; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Owen of Holly; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brother Louden Dodderer; 2 sisters, Henrietta Spiess, Katherine Smothers; a host of friends at Mince Manor and Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank in 1981.
