Cecelia and her husband Lawrence were long-time rice farmer in Nome, Texas. They never had children of their own but raised a young girl named Beatrice.

They were also loving godparents to Winnie and Hendrix Parks, the grand-children of Cecelia's best friend and first cousin Winnie East Leach.
