MABEL PILLOW TIDWELL
[Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Pillow Tidwell, 79, of East Madison St., widow of the late Joe J. Tidwell were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 1975 at Bennett-May Chapel. Bro. James Merritt officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery. #Mrs. Tidwell died, January 30, 1975 in Maury County Hospital. The daughter of the late Tom and Ella Cashion Pillow, was born July 14, 1895 in Giles County. #Survivors: Four daugthers, Miss Mabel Tidwell, Mrs. Lee Davis of Pulaski, Mrs. Edward Michalik, Willow Springs, Ill., and Mrs. Edward Ursing, San Jose, Calif.; five sons, Sam Tidwell and Harold Tidwell of Pulaski, Jimmy Tidwell Huntsville Ala., Selvin Tidwell, Lewisburg and Joe Henry Tidwell of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ira Englett of Wales; twenty-two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. #Bennett-May Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.]

--Mabel Pillow Tidwell was preceded in death by two adult daughters, Aileen Dunnavant in 1962 and Mary Pardon in 1970--

Mabel Clara Pillow Tidwell & husband, Joe J. (aka Joseph Johnson) Tidwell had 13 children; 11 lived to maturity. Two daughters, who died as infants, are buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Giles Co., TN:
