NATCHEZ-Funeral services for Mary Walley Simmons, 55, of Ferriday, La. and formerly of Natchez, who died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Oshner's Hospital in New Orleans, La., will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in the Kingston community with the Rev. Aaron McGuffee officiating.

Burial will follow at Kingston Cemetery with Laird Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel and from 9 a.m. until services at the church on Monday.

Ms. Simmons was born February 29, 1948 in Fairhope, Ala., the daughter of Nollie Walley and Ouida Nell Busby Walley. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James E. Walley and Jerry L. Walley.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam S. Stinespring of Vicksburg; a son, Bobby Simmons and his wife, Tina, of Natchez; four grandchildren, Shasta Simmons of Vidor, Texas, Sarah Simmons of Natchez, and Courntney and Brian Stinespring of Vicksburg; two brothers, Don Walley of Vicksburg and Joe Walley and his wife, Bernice, of Vicksburg; two sisters, Betty Jean Tarver and her husband, George, of Natchez, and Brenda W. Dawkins and her husband, Fairley, of Vicksburg; a special friend, Billy Maxie of Ferriday, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
