By 1850, the family had moved to Macon County, Illinois, where James died.

She died in [or before] October 1856 in Macon County, Illinois, where her probate is recorded. The warrant to appraise her estate was issued October 27, 1856. There is a record of purchasing a coffin ($9) in the probate papers, and her son William was the administrator of her estate. She is most likely buried next to her husband James in Salem Cemetery, but the cemetery records have no record of the burial.
