Ethel Anne Crane Burch

Ethel Anne Burch, 75, died at the Ladd Memorial hospital in Osceola, on Thursday, November 29,1979.

The former Ethel Anne Crane, daughter of Patricia Anne Beard and Jessie Crane of Carthage, South Dakota, was born on November 19, 1904 at Wheeler, Wisconsin. (Please note that this is not correct. She was born in Carthage, South Dakota.) She had one brother, Oliver. (This is also inaccurate because Ethel and Oliver had many half siblings through their dad Jesse's second marriage.)

She married Laurence Burch on February 6, 1921, in Milltown and they raised ten children, six sons, including twins, and four daughters. Laurence preceded her in death, as did one son and four grandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, five sons and four daughters, 43 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral was Monday, December 3, from the Edling Funeral Home in Saint Croix Falls, with Rev. Donald Blodgett officiating.

Casket bearers were: Terry Schilling, Kenneth Burch, Bradley Burch, George Anderson, James DeYoung, Van Burch, and Mike Lloyd. Honorary Casket bearers were: David, Casey, Danny, Cliffton, Bill Jo, Jerry, Calvin, and Dennis Burch, Randy, Rick, Rodney, and Dean Anderson, Jack Lloyd, Edward Nutter, Dennis Schilling, John and Robert DeYoung. Interment was at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with arrangements by the Edling Funeral Home of Saint Croix Falls.
