My Uncle Frankie was an all-around good guy, a loving character right out of an Italian-made movie where the tough-guy image doesn't quite mix with the real person persona of underlying softness and kindness. He always seemed untouchable, seemingly cool and had a lightness and glide to his walk that almost appeared ballet-like. Ballroom dancing was his absolute passion and inner joy and definitely someone who should have become a professional showman dancer. Originally a barber shop owner, he later became a successful craftsman refurbishing and restoring old furniture pieces and heirlooms until his retirement.

He absolutely treasured his beautiful wife, my Aunt Mary, who was his living and breathing lifeline, until she unexpectedly passed away in 2007. He was lost without my Aunt Mary and those two years were extremely painful and difficult for him. He also cherished his two sons and grandson.

I will love and remember them forever.

(In November 2015 very sadly their son, Michael, suddenly passed away)

I'm sorry this is late in coming but know that I think of you and miss you often. I was in shock when you took ill that last week and passed so fast while all along I had expected you to get well. I think you gave up the will and fight because you missed Mary so much. I'm sure dear brother you are happy and at peace, now together with Mary, our parents and my Fred.

I love you so, Jean
