Mr. Thomas "TOM" Hickey was born in Sylvester, Georgia on May 4, 1902 to the late Mr. John Hickey and Mrs. Katie Garrett Hickey. Mr.Thomas attended Schools and Church in Harrisville, Georgia. In the year of 1920, Mr. Thomas met and married Mrs. Sadie Hickerson Hickey and their union was blessed with one daughter. Mr. Thomas relocated to Apopka, Florida in the year of 1924. After the death of his wife, Mr. Thomas met and married Mrs. Mammie Whitehead Hickey and their union was blessed with five children. After her death, Mr. Thomas met and married Mrs. Josephine Dingle Dunston Hickey and their union was blessed with three children. Mr. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Ms. Thomas would help anyone that needed his help. Mr. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and Mr. Thomas made numerous of friends wherever he went and Mr. Thomas will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
On August 14, Mr. Thomas was converted and became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas Hickey became ill suddenly on November 16, 1969 and on November 22, 1969, God silently called Thomas into his Heavenly Home.
Mr. Thomas leaves to mourn his passing: six daughters and eight sons; two brothers and six sisters; five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; three sons-in-law and five daughters-in-law; thirty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and many sorrowing friends.
