Mrs. Susan Shaffer, widow of Henry Shaffer, died on November 3rd, 1925, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Brodbeck, Hanover Junction, Pa. She was a faithful member of Friedensaal's Church and was next to the oldest member of the Seven Valleys Lutheran Charge, her age having been 92 years, 1 month and 23 days. She had been confined to her bed for almost one year, suffering from infirmities incident old age. She is survived by six children, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
After a brief service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brodbeck on Friday morning, November 5, 1925, at 9:30 o'clock, the funeral party proceeded to Friedensaal's church where further services were conducted by the pastor, assisted by the Rev. W. E. Saltzgiver, a grandson of the deceased. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
