Couple Will Wed June 23 in California
Mr and Mrs J S Hanks, 968 Military drive, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth to Roy Pierce Walker of San Jose, Cal., son of Mrs Grace P Walker, 1338 Kensington avenue. The marriage will take place at Stanford chapel, Palo Alto, Cal., on June 23.
Both young people are graduates of the University of Utah, where the bride-elect was member of the Ci Delta Phi sorority, and Mr Walker was affiliated with the Theta Tau fraternity and university De Molay club. Miss Hanks is at present a member of the faculty of the Stewart training school University of Utah.
Miss Hanks plans to leave for California shortly before her marriage. She will be accompaned by her mother and father who after the marriage will vacation in southern California, attending the fair at San Diego.
After a honeymoon in Northern California the young couple will be at home in San Jose.

1935 Marriage Announcement SLC, Utah
The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Hanks, daughter of Mr and Mrs J S Hanks, 968 Military drive, and Roy Pierce Walker of San Jose, Cal., son of Mrs Grace P Walker of Salt Lake City, will take place June 23 in the Stanford Memorial chapel. Miss Hanks will leave Sunday with her parents for the coast.
A number of parties have been given in honor of the bride-elect during the past week. Mrs E G Klemm Jr entertained at a miscellaneous shower at her home on Second avenue Tuesday evening when a dozen close friends of the bride were in attendance. Miss Elizabeth Child entertained at her home on Military drive Monday evening.
Thursday evening, Miss Jean Peters and Miss Margaret Kephart entertained at a shower and supper at the Kephart home. Tables were arranged for bridge and the decorations of the serving table were pink sweet peas and roses. Miniature brides were used as favors.
Friday evening the popular bride was honored at a bridge supper given by Miss Elizabeth Allen.
