He is survived by his wife, Ina Cox at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Anita Cox of McGregor; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Richard L. Homan of Keswick, and Virginia Cox of Des Moines; three brothers, Ralph and Lewis Cox and the Rev. G. C. Cox Junior; five sisters, Ruth Boss, June Camenisch, Elma Schuhart, Louise Harmon and Mildred O'Conner: seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Herald (Jack), Edwin (Dutch), Ernest and Tommy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18 at 10:30 AM at the Harden funeral Chapel in What Cheer, with the Rev. David Pinkerton and the Rev. G. C. Cox Junior officiating. Burial will be at the Sixteen cemetery near Thornburg. Visitation is open on Thursday 9 AM to 8:30 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to What Cheer rescue unit.
