Rosalie McCoury, age 69, of Newland passed away on Sunday November 1, 2009 at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Avery County, she was born August 2, 1940 to Ester Bell Mayberry of Cranberry and the late John Henry Henson.
Rosalie was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and gospel music.
Along with father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Henson.
Along with her Mother, she has left to cherish her memory: her husband, Billy Ray McCoury of the home; her two daughters, Lisa King of Elk Park and Rachel McCoury of Newland; one son, Johnny McCoury of Cranberry; two sisters, Lila Street of Roan Mtn.and Henrietta Hughes of Cranberry; and one brother, Teddy Henson of Cranberry. Four grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 3rd from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 PM. Lila Street will officiate. Interment services will he held on Wednesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cranberry Cemetery.
