Edna Wirth Badanis, 105, of Memphis, passed away November 4, 2009 at the St. Peter's Villa in Memphis. She and her late husband, Charles Badanis had built a neighborhood shopping center, 14 stores at Jackson and National in 1950 which they later sold. Mrs. Badanis was a writer, a former Court Reporter on Staff Legal in the Commanding Officer's Office, NAT EchTraCen in Memphis, Tennessee. She previously served in an Administrative capacity for the War Department and prior to that time, she was employed in the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C. She leaves several nieces and nephews and many loyal friends. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2009 in Temple Israel Cemetery.
