Adam F. Phillips, a well known and highly regarded citizen of Wayne township, died Thursday in Philadelphia where he had undergone an operation. His death occurred on the operating table. Mr. Phillips was a son of Jesse Phillips, deceased, formerly an associate judge of Greene county, and Mary Spragg Phillips. And he was engaged in the mercantile business, at Kuhntown, and he was also a successful farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the I. O. O. F. lodge. Mr. Phillips was aged 56 years. His wife Nancy Freeland Phillips, and the following children survive: Peter, Jesse, Dorsey and Miss Ella Phillips, all at home. The following brothers also survive: W. D. Phillips, of Cameron, W. Va.; Levi, Caleb, Thomas E. and Daniel Phillips, of Spraggs; John of Oak Forest; Richard, of East Waynesburg; James, of Ruffs Creek, and Dr. George Phillips, of Blacksville. A sister resides in the west.
