Thomas E. (Doc) Phillips, 90, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel P. Long, of Waynesburg, R. D. 4, Tuesday, March 9, 1948, at 5:45 a.m. after an illness of the past two and a half months. Death was caused by a heart condition.

A retired farmer, Mr. Phillips was born Feb. 4, 1858, in Wayne Township, a son of the late Jesse and Mary Spraggs Phillips, and had spent most of his life in Wayne Township. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Long, with whom he had been making his home, a brother, Dr. George W. Phillips, of Morgantown, W. Va.; a sister, Mrs. Debbie Finchum, Woodward, Oklahoma.
