WEST HAMLIN - Carl Brunty, 70, of West Hamlin died May 24, 1998, at home after a long illness.
He was retired from the state Department of Highways.
Surviving: wife, Eloise Brunty; daughter, Rose Morrison of Milton; sons, C.L. "Butch" Brunty and Douglas Brunty, both of Salt Rock; sisters, Lorene Kozicki of Pennsylvania, Wilda Simpkins of Branchland, Shelba Graham of Sweetland, Eula McComas Bowen of Salt Rock, Kay Plumley of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Jack Brunty of Branchland, Gary Brunty of Ty Ty, Ga., Charles Porter of Huntington Park, Calif., Ivan Porter of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Decision Church, Salt Rock, with the Rev. Lee Helms officiating. Burial will be in Ray Cemetery, West Hamlin. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, and one hour prior to service at the church.
