Harold L. Mead
LOCKPORT — Harold L. (Jim) Mead of Lockport, died Thursday afternoon at Lockport Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born in the Town of Hartland, March 29, 1911, son of the late Lewis and Augusta (Klino) Mead. He worked for Swift Brothers Farm for several years and also worked at Smith's Roses in Gasport and White Roses in Medina. Mr. Mead was a member of Johnson Creek Senior Citizens and attended the Hess Road Wesleyan Church, Appleton. Survivors include his wife, Doris H. Mead; three sisters and one brother, Julia Hibbard of Florida, Mrs. Howard (Ruth) Rosseau of Middleport, Mrs. Wilford (Louah) McAvoy of Barker and Donald Mead of Lockport, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Howard Mead, Homer Mead, Melvin Mead and Arlene Childs. Friends may call tonight (7-9) and Saturday (2-4, 7-9) at Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, Inc., 38 State St., Middleport. There will be no calling hours Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Hess Road Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Robert King officiating. Burial will be in Hanland Central Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Hess Road Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
