Jacob Haushalter was born on Nov. 6, 1864 (according to family records) in Pulaski, Brown Co., Wisconsin. On Sept. 26, 1896 he was married to Margaret Ann Conner in Milwaukee, WI. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Egan Conner.
Jacob and Margaret had six children; Ambrose, Gordon, Howard, Eugene, Malinda and Lina, who were all born in the Milwaukee area.
Sometime after the birth of his last child, Jacob and Margaret divorced. Jacob left the Milwaukee area and moved to Montana where he eventually married Meecy Ralston. The couple had a son Nathan.
