Elizabeth Isabelle Moore ENCINITAS -- Elizabeth Isabelle Moore passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at home in Encinitas, Calif. Elizabeth was born January 11, 1914 in Coalmont, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Alston Moore, Sr.; and son, William. She is the daughter of Jules and Clementine Matten, and the sister of George Matten, founding member of St. John Catholic Church. [Surviving family names removed due to living status.] She was one of the founding members of St. John Catholic Church. The Church has always been a major source of comfort and guidance in her life. She was a member of the Altar Society, the Encinitas Toastmistress and the Happy Tappers. Her hobbies included dancing, especially ballroom dancing, going to garage sales and gardening. She retired from Central School where she worked in the cafeteria. Rosary will be said at Encinitas Mortuary at 5 pm, Tuesday, November 10. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Wednesday, November 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Encinitas. Interment will be at 12:30 pm, Friday, November 13, at Welwood-Murray Cemetery in Palm Springs.
