Anna Smith was the daughter of Thomas Daniel Smith, her Mother was Nancy Elizabeth Clayton. Anna parents were married in 1787 in Surry, North Carolina, they left North Carolina and migrated to Tennessee. Their eight children were born, in Tennessee. Thomas Smith moved to Hinds County, Mississippi, after Thomas Smith's death the family moved on to Carroll County. The family lived at Smith Mill's. Anna met her husband William Mohead in Carroll County, Mississippi.
