Mrs.Amanda Tharp, 83, a resi­dent of Warren for the last eight years, died at 2:15 a. m. Saturday at her home in that town. She had been seriously ill two weeks. Death was caused by arterial sclerosis and arthritis.

Mrs. Tharp was born May 12, 1866, at Peru to Lewis and Re­becca Dillinger Laudenschlager. She married Amos Tharp at Peru May 9, 1889. The husband died September 4, 1940.

Mrs. Tharp was a former resi­dent of Jackson township. Wells county.
Surviving are three children, Frank L. Tharp, Seminole. Okla.; Alvin A. Tharp, Leo, and Mrs. Hilda R. Swager, Anderson. There are eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sis­ter, Mrs. Sarah Kirby, Wabash. One sister, one brother and one grandchild are dead.

The body was removed to the H. Brown and Son funeral home at Warren and was returned Saturday evening to the Tharp residence where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday at the resi­dence with the Rev. M. E. Kessler, pastor of the Warren Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn ceme­tery.

Mrs. Tharp's Rites Held At Warren

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church at Warren for Mrs. Amanda Tharp, 83, whose death occurred early Saturday at her home in Warren. Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Warren.

Mrs. Tharp had been seriously ill two weeks.

She was born May 12, 1866, at Peru, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Laudenschlager. Her marriage took place at Peru. The husband died in 1940.

Mrs. Tharp was a former resident of Jackson township, Wells county.

Surviving are three children, Frank L. Tharp, Seminole, Okla.; Alvin A. Tharp, Leo, and Mrs. Hilda R. Swager, Anderson. There are eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Kirby, Wabash. One sister, one brother and one grandchild are dead.
